Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3/17/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ntathu collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies to your Ntathu Account and all related services.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Ntathu. We are building a digital ecosystem for Zimbabwe, including our AI assistant (Ntathu AI), our creator platform (Ntathu Creators), our Wi-Fi advertising network (Ntathu Connect), and our business automation tools (Ntathu Automate).
Your trust is essential to our mission, and we are committed to being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it across all of our services.
By creating a Ntathu Account or using any of our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2a. Core Ntathu Account Information
When you create a Ntathu Account, we require a verified phone number. You may voluntarily add other information like your name or connect a Google account.
2b. Information Collected by Specific Services (Only when you use them)
When you use Ntathu AI: We collect your chat history, prompts, and AI responses to provide and improve the service. This data is linked to your Ntathu Account.
When you use Ntathu Creators: We collect your public profile information if you are a Creator, and your pledge history if you are a Patron. Financial payout information is handled by our third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe Connect, Paynow) and is not stored on our primary servers.
When you use Ntathu Connect: If you choose to log in with your Ntathu Account at a partner venue, we collect the location (specific venue), date, time, and duration of your session. If you use the Guest Pass without logging in, we only collect anonymous usage data via analytics tools like PostHog.
When you use Ntathu Automate: We process the data you use within your workflows but do not own it. We collect metadata about which automation services you use.
2c. Technical Information
Across all services, we collect standard technical information including:
- Device and Log Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and the dates and times of your requests. We use this for security, debugging, and analytics.
- Cookies and Analytics: We use cookies and analytics tools like PostHog to understand user behavior and improve our platform.
2d. Information from Third Parties
If you sign up using a third-party service like Google, we receive information from them as authorized by your profile settings (e.g., your name, email, profile picture).
3. How We Connect Information Across Services
We use the Ntathu Account to provide a seamless experience across our products. For example:
- If you earn a bonus (like extra Wi-Fi time or AI credits) on one service, we will apply that bonus to your central Ntathu Account.
- We may use your activity on one service to suggest relevant features or content on another.
Important: We do not share your private chat history from Ntathu AI with Creators on Ntathu Creators, or vice-versa. Data is only connected where it provides a direct benefit or is necessary for the function of the unified account.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain Our Services: To create your account, process your subscriptions and credit top-ups, deliver AI responses, facilitate creator payouts, and grant Wi-Fi access.
- To Improve and Personalize Our Services: To understand how our users interact with our products so we can fix bugs, develop new features, and provide a more relevant experience.
- For Security and Abuse Prevention: To protect our platform and our users by verifying accounts, detecting fraudulent activity, and enforcing our terms of service.
- To Communicate With You: To send you essential service updates, security alerts, and information about your account. With your consent, we may also send you marketing communications about new products and features.
- To Comply with Legal Obligations: To respond to legal requests and prevent harm.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to third-party marketers. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party companies to help us operate our business (e.g., Supabase for our backend, Twilio for SMS verification, OpenRouter for AI models, Paynow/Stripe for payments). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- With Creators: If you are a patron on Ntathu Creators, the creator you support will be able to see your profile name and pledge level.
- For Legal Reasons: We may share information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ntathu, our users, or the public.
- Anonymized and Aggregated Data: We may share anonymized, aggregated data (which cannot be used to identify you) with partners or for public reports on trends in the Zimbabwean digital economy.
6. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We use a combination of technical, administrative, and physical controls to protect your information. Our platform is built on secure, professional-grade infrastructure (Supabase) that includes encryption of data at rest and in transit, and robust access controls.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have rights over your information. In your Ntathu Account settings, you will be able to access, review, and update your profile information. You can also request the deletion of your account.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. We may also retain certain information for legal or legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through our services or by other means, such as email.
